About the Role
As a Full Stack Software Engineer – Teradata/ETL/DataStage at Ford Motor Company, you will develop and maintain ETL jobs and workflows to extract, transform and load data from various sources into Teradata data warehouse.
You will customize views and macros using Teradata tools, develop Unix Shell scripts and complex SQL queries, and deploy ETL Jobs (Parallel Jobs, Sequencers) using DataStage.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain ETL jobs and workflows to extract, transform and load data from various sources into Teradata data warehouse.
- Customize views and macros using Teradata tools.
- Develop Unix Shell scripts and complex SQL queries.
- Deploy ETL Jobs (Parallel Jobs, Sequencers) using DataStage.
- Participate in database design and development projects, including data modeling, ETL processes and SQL programming.
- Collaborate with data architects, developers, and business stakeholders to design and develop efficient data models and schemas in Teradata.
- Perform system and data analysis, troubleshoot issues, and identify and implement solutions to ensure the data integrity and quality of the data, processing, and analytics.
- Provide technical guidance in the design, development, and implementation of Teradata data warehousing solutions using IBM Infosphere DataStage ETL tool.
- Monitor and analyze system performance metrics and logs to identify potential issues before they become critical.
- Develop and maintain documentation of ETL processes, data mappings, and data dictionaries.
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the development of coding standards.
About You
We are looking for a highly skilled Full Stack Software Engineer with expertise in Teradata, ETL, DataStage, Unix Shell scripts, and complex SQL queries.
You should have a bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and 5 years of experience in the position offered or 5 years of experience managing data in Teradata data warehousing, data migration and ETL development, using Teradata SQL, utilities, and the following tools: BTEQ, FastLoad, MultiLoad, and TPT.
You should also have 5 years of experience creating Teradata data warehousing concepts, data modeling, and schema design; 2 years of experience developing data integration and ETL processes, including data mapping, and data validation; and 1 year of experience developing cloud-based data warehousing technologies and platforms, including Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, or Microsoft Azure.
