In this position...
As Ford's manufacturing internal communications specialist, you will lead hourly employee communications and engagements that deliver on Manufacturing objectives. This includes pioneering new employee communication channels and playing a leadership role in planning and executing major events across the Americas, like Family Open Houses, #WeAreFord Days, executive visits and more. You will also lead executive communications for Ford's vice president, Americas Manufacturing.
Responsibilities
What you'll do...
As part of the Manufacturing communications team, partner with Manufacturing leaders to understand their business objectives and craft communications strategies to help achieve them
Lead hourly employee communications and engagements
Pioneer new in-person and digital employee communication channels
Study hourly employee sentiment and help translate insights into action - for example, designing best-in-class recognition programs
Play a leadership role in planning and executing major events across the Americas, like Family Open Houses, #WeAreFord Days, executive visits and more
Lead internal and external executive communications for Ford's vice president, Americas Manufacturing, creating monthly columns, frequent videos and engaging social media posts
Work in lockstep with the Employee Communications team and other key communications stakeholders to tailor key messages to the Manufacturing hourly team
Continuous personal development of functional competencies and Ford OS Behaviors
Stay connected to major company and industry news
Contribute to broader Communications projects as needed
Qualifications
You'll have...
Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, PR or related field of study
Experience in communications, media relations or journalism
Demonstrated strength in writing and communication
Business acumen and strategic thinking skills
Creativity to generate original content
Top-notch organizational and multi-tasking abilities
Self-starter attitude
Experience with social media and an understanding of its role in business
Professional and interpersonal maturity with a proven track record of successful relationship-building

This position is a salary grade 7.
