Electric Vehicle Digital Design (EVDD) is responsible for developing the key technologies and capabilities - such as EV platforms, batteries, e-motors, inverters, charging and recycling - to create ground-up breakthrough electric vehicles. The Senior Battery Pack Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and implementing the lithium-ion battery systems for our electric vehicles. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in battery technology, including the design, manufacturing, and testing of lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles.
Responsibilities
What you'll be able to do :
- Develop and design lithium-ion battery systems utilizing 3DX
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure battery systems meet performance, safety, and cost requirements, as well as integration with the overall vehicle platform
- Create test plans and conduct testing and analysis of battery systems to identify and resolve any issues.
- Work with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure high-quality battery components
- Create boundary diagrams and device transmittals
- Coordinate CAE simulations for both mechanical and thermal systems
- Maintain documentation and records related to battery system designs and testing results
- Stay up-to-date with the latest battery technology and industry trends to ensure our electric vehicles remain competitive
