Job Summary
The Product Lead for Text & Chat will lead mid-sized projects that support the assigned product area by leading the development, delivery, maintenance, and communication of various product milestones. The Product Lead will work closely with technology, sales, and marketing to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Lead will be responsible for new product/feature launches and platform related projects and work cross-functionally to resolve issues and manage roadmaps.
The Product Lead will gather requirements and analyze data working closely with the product team to ensure changes are aligned with overall product strategy.
This role will Lead FordDirect’s Dealer Chat & Text products and requires experience working with multiple vendors and products. We are looking for an individual with experience in contract initiation, price negotiation, product launch and delivery.
The ideal candidate will have a strong business acumen and exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills.
A background in product AI chat is a plus.
This position is a hybrid role which requires the employee to work in the office every Tuesday and Wednesday.
Essential Functions
- Serve as the subject matter expert, by defining, leading, and executing strategy and performance metrics of assigned product and related processes.
- Continually lead and enhance product performance to achieve core success measures.
- Constantly strive for the highest level of dealer/customer satisfaction.
- Prioritize feature roadmaps for existing products and run pilot programs for early-stage products.
- Work with Marketing to develop core positioning and messaging.
- Create and deliver presentations to communicate product roadmap and performance.
- Maintain awareness of competitive landscape to stay current on emerging technologies and dealer needs.
- Participate in the selection, evaluation, and management of third-party vendors.
- Assist in development of pricing strategy to meet revenue and profitability goals.
- Assist in development of product budget, P&L, and report on forecast versus actual expenditures.
- Provide product content to training team and product updates to sales team on a consistent basis.
- Own the collaboration across all internal and external teams to ensure alignment.
- Develop, optimize, and implement product-related processes to ensure operating efficiency.
- Regularly review product or platform performance and metrics to identify any anomalies or issues.
- Manage dealer and field product and troubleshooting requests.

Experience
- Digital product definition and product management experience (3 years).
- Leading projects and delivering on customer business needs (3 years).
- Leading the roadmap, change management and performance for digital marketing products (3 years).
- Automotive OEM or Dealer-related product experience.
- Product budget management.

Education
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Technology, or equivalent combination of work experience and education
