What are the responsibilities and job description for the Retail Garden Center Assistant Manager position at Forde Nursery?
Forde Nursery is looking to hire an experienced, knowledgeable, full-time assistant manager to work with the nursery manager to oversee our garden center operation and assist in day to day sales. A degree in horticulture and/or 3 years of experience in retail management is preferred.
Job Description and Responsibilities:
Work with the nursery manager to organize, supervise, and train staff in our retail nursery/garden center. Responsibilities include caring for plant material, answering phones, helping customers, creating signage & displays, updating pricing, making sales promotions, receiving/managing inventory, sending monthly newsletter, and updating pamphlets.

- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work weekends
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds
