Position Summary
Reporting to the Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives in Development and University Relations ( DAUR )’s Office of Alumni Relations, the Associate Director of Engagement Analytics serves as a key architect in measuring and quantifying the impact of alumni engagement endeavors. This position is responsible for spearheading the collection, analysis, and structuring of data to extract meaningful insights to inform and guide alumni engagement strategies.
Essential Functions
Designs and implements a comprehensive strategy to track key alumni metrics across multiple platforms and channels, including our website, social media, mentorship platform, volunteering activities, giving, and events.
Conducts in-depth data analysis of website traffic, email marketing, social media engagement, event metrics, and other relevant channels to identify patterns and areas for optimization.
Develops and delivers regular reports and intuitive dashboards that communicate key metrics and impact.
Assess data inventories in both the central database and shadow databases like Google Sheets and identify data gaps relevant to measuring alumni engagement.
Coordinates with the Office of Alumni Relations team members to identify and structure data not currently in the central database, ensuring it is ready for sharing with the Advancement Services and Advancement Systems and Analytics teams.
Partners with the Advancement Services and Advancement Systems and Analytics teams to regularly intake data generated from the Office of Alumni Relations team, ensuring a reliable and consistent data pipeline is established and maintained.
Collaborates with Advancement teams on critical data projects that support alumni engagement and establishes strong partnerships across DAUR and the University as needed to enhance data collection, analysis, and reporting capabilities.
Standardizes alumni surveys and reports on findings, feedback, and trends.

Required Qualifications: Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum of 4 years of experience working with data analytics.
Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills
Knowledge of best practices for data collection and analysis; ability to build dashboards and set up and manage data analysis tools.
Experience with relational databases and data sets, data management, and standards; experience writing simple queries; experience with website analytics.
Proficiency in data analysis tools; advanced ability to synthesize complex information and ability to turn raw data into meaningful visualizations and actionable insights.
Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally with an ability to translate technical information to non-technical audiences.
Strong project management skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with different teams to ensure data is accurately captured and effectively utilized.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment; flexible approach to working with multiple stakeholders.
Willingness to learn new tools/applications as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in analytics, data science, or a related field.
Experience working with data analytics in higher education or development.
Proficiency in Google Suite, Google Analytics, CRM systems, and comfort in adopting new digital tools.
Experience working in a large institution and with cross-functional teams.
Minimum Starting Salary $85,000
Maximum Starting Salary $95,000
