Areas of practice include regulatory compliance, policy review, contract review, data security, immigration, and other transactional legal work.Essential Functions Prepares written responses to government agencies regarding employment and student issues.Provides legal advice relating to the review, drafting and negotiation of complex contracts across a variety of colleges and departments, including academic affairs, student affairs, facilities, athletics, marketing and communication, development and student enrollment. The Associate General Counsel will support the Office of Finance, specifically in the areas of risk, insurance, pension, tax and contracts.Oversees the preparation of immigration petitions and supporting documents, and provides legal advice on all aspects of immigration law affecting employees.Provides counsel on legal issues involving students, including Title IX compliance, athletics, admission and financial aid, disability accommodations, student records, and student discipline.Collaborates with appropriate University departments to develop, revise, and interpret internal University policies and procedures.Oversees the University’s policy bank and review process.Conducts legal research as directed regarding legal, policy, regulatory and compliance issues impacting higher education institutions.Essential Functions Note : This list is not intended to be an exhaustive list.
