Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager of Building Services, the Carpenter performs independent work related to the maintenance and repair of campus interior/exterior structures and furnishings.
This position requires work hours Monday to Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm.
Essential Functions
Repairs, installs, and maintains flooring, roofs, ceilings, doors, stairs, windows, signs, and other building and campus structures/components.
Makes masonry repairs, including brick/stone, concrete, tiles (ceramic, vinyl, other), asphalt, etc.
Services and installs bathroom walls/partitions, showers, enclosures, and other interior components.
Responds to service calls; troubleshoot problems and service issues.
Assists Carpenters And Other Trades As Required.
Assists in maintaining inventory and the upkeep of the shop.
Performs other work typical of craft and other duties as assigned by management.
Is on-call for emergency and event-related duties.

Required Qualifications: Education and Experience
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
Minimum of 1 year in construction/carpentry trade and/or a training certificate in carpentry and general repairs.
Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills
Ability to follow written instructions (work orders) and read furniture and equipment assembly schematics.
Must know how to use and operate power tools, gauges, computers, ladders, and other tools and equipment typical to this position.
Must know how to use and operate power tools and shop equipment typical to this position.
Valid Driver’s License.
Preferred Qualifications
Trade School.
