Position Summary
Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Strategic Mission Initiatives, the Director of Campus and Community Engagement will provide leadership, vision, and direction for advancing the Center for Community Engaged Learning (“ CCEL ” or “Center”) mission.
This position is responsible for ensuring that the programs of the Center align with the needs of key units in the University and among a recognized set of community partners in New York and beyond. Additionally, they promote the development of sustainable relationships between community partners and academic units (faculty, departments, etc.) that engage in community-engaged learning courses and related projects. They manage, delegate, and oversee partnership portfolios of appointed CCEL personnel and contribute to the overall management of the Center.
This position manages, executes, and evaluates co-curricular programs, including the Urban Plunge pre-orientation program.
Essential Functions
Oversees the development, management, and growth of community partnerships for the Center for Community Engaged Learning.
Establishes a portfolio of community partners that serves the objectives of the CCEL and delegates specific portfolios to members of the CCEL staff.
Exercises principal oversight of Global Outreach, Urban Plunge, and student leadership development programs.
Collaborates with CCEL staff to align course/project development with partnership relationship development.
Supports and contributes to the operation of all CCEL programs.

Management Responsibilities Supervises the work of other Fordham employees who are individual contributors. Responsible for hiring, training and developing, managing performance and administering corrective action. Has significant input in compensation decisions.
Additional Functions
Required Qualifications: Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree.
Minimum of six years of experience in community development or community-engaged learning, including experience in asset-based community development and systems of engagement.
Minimum Of 2 Years Of Supervisory Experience.
Required Qualifications: Knowledge and Skills
Deep understanding of the New York city public sector, nonprofits, community-based organizations, and community leadership, especially in the Bronx and the Lincoln Center/Lincoln Square neighborhoods.
Exceptional organizational skills.
Excellent communication skills.
Understanding of the use of technology/communication systems in a higher education context.
Strong understanding and personal commitment to Jesuit educational mission.
Demonstrated commitment to anti-racist principles and able to transmit these values through workshops/trainings for a wide variety of audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree.
Fluency in Spanish or another language commonly spoken in New York City.
Minimum Starting Salary $75,000
Maximum Starting Salary $90,000
