What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Fordland Clinic?
Medical Assistants provide critical support to the nurse practitioners and physicians in providing quality medical care to patients.
Responsibilities (included, but not limited to) :
- Take patient vital signs, including but not limited to blood pressure, pulse rate, height, and weight
- Room patients and establish a reason for the visit. Document chief complaint
- Work collaboratively with the provider for the coordination of quality health care for clinic patients
- Manage patient flow with the correct balancing of scheduled appointments and walk-ins according to the number and skills of providers present
- Clean medical equipment as necessary. Routinely check oxygen levels in the oxygen tank
- Prepare exam rooms and assist the provider with procedures
- Prepare patients for exams / procedures
- Assist with all Covid / Flu clinics at all 3 locations
- Pre-Visit Planning including reaching out to patients due for vaccines that do not have appointment scheduled yet
- Assist with inventory management
- Provide back up support to Clinical Coordinator
- Other Duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements
Benefits :
Work hours : Full-time, hourly position - In order to maintain full-time status, a minimum of 30 hours per week on average are required, though 36 to 40 hours a week will be expected for this position. Hours are subject to change. Clinic hours are 8 : 00 am to 6 : 00 pm Monday through Friday, and 8 : 00 am to 4 : 00 pm Saturday. This position may be scheduled to work any of the days the clinic is open (Monday through Saturday) and may be scheduled to arrive 15 minutes prior to opening and may be scheduled to leave one hour after closing, depending on patients scheduled.
