What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Electrical Foreman position at Forefront Construction Services?
- Lead all field work activities as required toward timely and accurate completion.
- Ensure quality of field work, and to adhere with all FCS policies and procedures and the plans/engineering.
- Ensure proper training of all junior staff in equipment usage, safety and (OSHA) adherence always.
- Oversee subcontractor superintendents/foreman in effective scheduling and management of all field and project work.
- Maintain adherence to all job site rules and regulations. Ensure all OSHA/Cal OSHA and FCS safety guidelines are being adhered to by all FCSED employees on that project.
- Development and maintenance of strategic equipment and inventory planning and adherence
- Ensure all FCS purchased materials and equipment are ready for scheduled installation and are approved by the client for use on site. Ensure all said equipment is returned on schedule if on rental agreement.
- Ensure all company owned equipment maintenance is proactively managed, current, and all items tracked.
- Consistently utilize project software tools and Share Point Field folder:
- Raken Report (daily reporting) Critical Infrastructure checklist is complete and tracked.
- Assist all FCS field staff in troubleshooting of day-to-day problems and issues requiring correction.
- Closely check the work of field staff to assure compliance with laws, protection of the company from risk, and the compliance with established budgets and deadlines
- Take charge and exercise leadership and judgment in changing situations.
- Ensure all timecards from your crew are turned in to FCS accounting for payroll on a weekly basis.
- Diplomatically influence the attitudes and opinions of others to overcome objections or hostility.
- Take overall responsibility for training construction crafts personnel.
- Through daily one-on-one contact and weekly staff meetings with FCS Field staff, communicate changes in company policy and procedure to superintendents and ensure compliance.
- Review and execute electrical drawings to deliver a fully functional electrical system: including circuitry, lighting, controls, and misc. electrical components and equipment.
- Testing and inspecting electrical work like wiring and lighting to ensure safe installation and compliance with regulatory codes.
- Planning and designing layouts of fixtures, wiring pathways and other electrical elements inside commercial and residential buildings.
- Ensure all work is up to the local electrical codes.
- Trouble shoot, repair and test electrical issues on existing systems.
- QA/QC of all electrical work. Manage and execute electrical schedules on GC supplied schedules
