Summary
The Aesthetician performs, explains, and schedules cosmetic procedures, consults, and treatment regimens regarding select treatments available at Forefront Dermatology. This position actively promotes/sells cosmetic products, pricing, and services. Actively promotes/sells cosmetic products and services. Performs, explains, and schedules select cosmetic consults and treatments per protocols. Provide appropriate patient education and after care instructions. Provide recommendations for cosmetic service enhancements and implements approved plans within specified timeframes. Assist with development of advertising and promotional materials.

Essential Functions:
Basic Facials to include cleansing, extraction, usage of lancets for extraction, high frequency and massage.Specialty Facials to include, ultrasound therapy, Microdermabrasion, Hydrafacial, TCA preparation and/or MLD massage.Glycolic and Salicylic acid peels to include DermaplaningBody Treatments such as exfoliating and application of serum and crèmes.Waxing of brows and face area.Reports to esthetician team leader for clinical issues, training, and professional guidance. Reports to office manager for general concerns, ideas, and human resource needs.Clean and stock Spa room as needed. Other duties as shared among spa team.Clean and sterilize equipment as needed.
Communication/Business: Discusses skin care program with patient and charts appropriately.Competency in the interpretation of patient behavior. Patient treatment should be individualized.Contacts upcoming patient appointments when clarification of needs has been determined i.e. off Retin-A prior to service.Assists office scheduling team with next appointment information and product purchasing.Takes responsibility for coverage of scheduled hours. Must be willing and able to work Saturdays as needed. Spa operates Mon-Sat.Answers phone in a clear professional manner when necessary.Demonstrates MS Windows based computer system experience.
Qualifications
Education, Skills & Experience:
Graduate of an Esthetics School with current Oregon state license.Ability to train with skin care products and perform facials according to standards.At least two years of experience performing facials.Ability to interact graciously with a broad range of patients/customers/guests.Ability to work with staff in a cooperative manner; team player.Displays good judgment; is cooperative and flexible; courteous; well groomed.On-going education and training as needed. Product knowledge.Able to read, write, speak and use judgment.
Work closely with clinicians to prioritize and organize daily tasks in response to changing demands.Able to establish positive and appropriate relationships with all customers of the Waldorf Center to include employees, patients/families and vendors.Maintains an adequate knowledge base while constantly adapting to change within an evolving healthcare environment.Process requests for information accurately, quickly, thoroughly and recognizes what’s appropriate to refer to another employee.Incorporates continuous quality improvement into practice. Willingness to report ideas, solutions and problems to the office manager.Incorporates principles of safety and infection control in daily activities.Communicates effectively with staff. Ability to work as a team to fulfill the organization goals and objectives.Maintains all HIPAA requirements and patient confidentiality relating to patients and employees.Able to complete physical requirements of the position.Simple grasping of objects of less than 5 lbs.Fine and skillful manipulation required in facials and treatments.Pushing and pulling of steamer (10lbs) on a constant basis.Must be able to lift at least 10 lbs using proper body mechanics.
