Summary
The Patient Service Representative is responsible for the patient check-in process, updating computer patient personal information and insurance information, handling a multi-line phone system, medical records filing and maintenance, and collection of co-pays and cash payments.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Performs opening and closing clinic duties
Greets patients, checks in for appointments and verifies insurance
Scans documents into electronic health record
Maintains tidiness of waiting area and reception counter throughout the day
Checks schedules for added, canceled and no-show appointments throughout the day
Schedules follow up appointments as needed
Responds to designated tasks in the electronic health record
Orders clinic office supplies
Sells and tracks cosmetic products
Distributes mail
Prepares for next day scheduled appointments
Qualifications
Education
High school diploma or equivalent is required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
1-2 years of recent medical office experience or in a similar capacity is preferred.
Proficient in basic computer functions.
Ability to learn new software quickly.
Must possess excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills.
Ability to operate standard office equipment.
Ability to type a minimum of 40 wpm is preferred.
Must possess attention to detail.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team.
Ability to respond positively to constructive feedback and direction from supervisors.
Must demonstrate professional appearance and manner at all times.
Must display a friendly, cheerful, tactful, and polite demeanor, and must be compassionate and caring in dealing with others.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
