Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in Brewton, AL. In this role, you will be responsible for performing general maintenance and repair tasks on equipment and buildings. Your daily tasks may include replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors; patching minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings; repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets; painting structures and equipment; repairing or replacing concrete floors, steps, and sidewalks; replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles; hanging doors and installing door locks; replacing broken window panes; and performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery. Depending on the site/location, Facility Technician may have multiple levels or classifications to help differentiate seniority amongst associates within the Facility Management Department.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Maintaining and repairing machines, mechanical equipment, and buildings.
- Fixing or replacing faulty electrical switches, outlets, and circuit breakers (as allowable per local and state requirements).
- Inspecting and diagnosing problems and figuring out the best way to correct them.
- Performing routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly.
- Assembling and setting up machinery or equipment.
- Planning repair work using blueprints or diagrams.
- Doing general cleaning and upkeep of buildings and properties.
- Ordering supplies from catalogs and storerooms.
- Preparing estimates; repairs and costs.
- Keeping detailed records of their work.
- Other duties as assigned.
