Under general supervision, the Locksmith installs, repairs, modifies, and opens a variety of locking mechanisms found on doors,desks,compartments,mobile equipment,safes,and vaults.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED
CERTIFICATES OR LICENSES REQUIRED: The following licenses or certificates may be required depending on local, state and/or contract requirements:
Fed Security Clearance
GSA Safe&Vault Tech Cert
Locksmith Certificate
Valid Driver's License
Additional Information
Hourly Wage: $24.19 an hour

Position Summary
Under general supervision, the Locksmith installs, repairs, modifies, and opens a variety of locking mechanisms found on doors,desks,compartments,mobile equipment,safes,and vaults.
Typical Duties
- Examines Locking Mechanisms And Installs New Units.
- Disassemble Unit And Replace Worn Tumblers, springs, and other parts.
- Repairs parts by filing, drilling, chiseling grinding.
- Opens door locks by moving lock pick in cylinder or opening safe locks by listening to lock sounds, or drilling.
- Makes New Or Duplicate Keys, using key cutting machine.
- Changes combinations by inserting new or repaired tumblers in lock. 7.*Establishes Keying Systems For Buildings.
- Install and repair panic hardware.
- Frequent Travel Between Facilities.
- Complies with PRIDE’s safety program and adheres to proper safety practices. 11.Performs Other Duties And Special Projects As Assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Three (3) years progressively responsible experience, typically acquired through on-the-job training or through formal apprenticeship training program,or equivalent training and experience;
- Basic math and computer skills;
- Knowledge of tools and equipment common to the locksmith trade;
- Effective communication and customer service skills to act responsively to customer inquiries and requests,and escalate the more difficult matters appropriately.
