Heavy Highway Construction company is looking for office staff to provide administrative and clerical support to ensure efficient operation of the Human Resources Department. You will support the Human Resources Director and Payroll Administrator through a variety of tasks related to organization and communication.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- answer and transfer phone calls
- welcome visitors by greeting them, answering or referring inquiries
- maintain personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements
- produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
- photocopying, scanning and faxing
- manage the new employee hiring/onboarding process
- prepare paperwork required for new hires and establish personnel file
- provide support for benefits administration and open enrollment meetings for health insurance, voluntary benefits and 401(K)
- assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled reports
- updating and maintaining databases
- pull reports from timekeeping software and process weekly payroll
- making phone calls
- keeping office area neat and tidy
- take inventory of and order office supplies
- assume other duties as assigned by the HR Director or Payroll Administrator
Education and Experience
- general knowledge of various employment laws and practices
- proven administrative or assistant experience
- knowledge of office management systems and procedures
- proficiency in MS Office
- proficient in use of email and internet
- previous experience processing payroll preferred
- good numeracy skills
- accurate keyboard skills
- knowledge of office management systems and procedures
- high school diploma or equivalent required
- associates degree preferred
