Job Summary:
We are seeking a Structured Cabling Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot Cat6, fiber optic, and low-voltage cabling in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate has experience with network infrastructure, adheres to OSHA safety regulations, and is familiar with Avaya and Mitel communication systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, terminate, and test Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optic cabling.
- Route and secure cables in industrial/manufacturing settings.
- Troubleshoot and repair structured cabling systems, including patch panels, racks, and conduits.
- Work with Avaya and Mitel voice and data systems, ensuring seamless integration.
- Follow OSHA safety standards, including proper use of PPE and ladder safety.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and network diagrams.
- Collaborate with IT and facility teams to support network infrastructure needs.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (BICSI, EIA/TIA).
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in structured cabling or low-voltage installations.
- Familiarity with Avaya and Mitel phone systems (preferred).
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification (required or willing to obtain).
- Knowledge of network cabling standards, including 568A/568B wiring schemes.
- Ability to work in high-heat, high-noise manufacturing environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, work on ladders, and operate power tools.
Preferred Certifications (Not Required):
- BICSI Installer (INST1/INST2)
- Fiber Optic Certification
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
