The Loan Processor proactively manages loan origination and servicing processes to ensure loan transactions occur in a timely and accurate fashion. This position will help originate business purpose loans, consumer mortgage loans, and retail loans. Specific duties involve loan documentation creation, maintenance of loan information in the bank’s various software systems, basic accounting entries, completion of loan processing checklists, and providing excellent service while assisting customers with questions and transactions.
Duties
- Manage the loan pipeline to ensure accuracy and timely loan closings
- Create and generate loan documents that are consistent with the specifications provided by the Loan Officer
- Order underwriting reports and origination products/services, including appraisals, credit reports, flood determinations, title work, Desktop Underwriting (DU), verifications of employment, MGIC Private Mortgage Insurance (PMI), etc.
- Assist the Loan Officer in obtaining documents from loan applicants
- Proactively coordinate with title companies and attorney offices on loan closings and loan settlement balancing
- Act as an intermediary between Loan Officers and outside parties to ensure timely and accurate loan originations
- Meet regulatory requirements for early disclosure delivery and Equal Credit Opportunity Act for applications that do not result in loans
- Loan reporting tasks and servicing existing loans
- Follow training plan and complete assignments in a timely manner
