What You’ll Lead:
Strategic Leadership & Compliance
- Champion and continuously improve Foresight’s Health & Safety Programs, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- While working under upper management’s guidelines, take full authority in enforcing safety programs across project teams and subcontractors—proactively identifying risks, resolving issues, and driving safety best practices.
- Represent Foresight’s Safety Program with authority, ensuring seamless implementation and adherence across all project sites.
- Stay up to date with OSHA standards, company policies, and industry trends, ensuring our teams receive timely updates and training.
- Act as the principal technical resource for jobsite safety, advising teams on safety equipment, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Foresight’s Safety Policy and contract exhibits.
Jobsite Oversight & Safety Culture
- Be actively engaged in every project, providing real-time safety leadership, hands-on guidance, and immediate response to safety concerns.
- Oversee project-specific safety programs, assisting with preconstruction setup, meetings, and job-specific orientations to ensure safety measures are integrated from day one.
- Conduct regular jobsite visits and audits, ensuring compliance and immediately addressing any safety concerns—documenting conditions and enforcing necessary corrections.
- Develop and implement weekly and daily jobsite inspections, utilizing Procore for streamlined reporting.
- Oversee all environmental and health issues in accordance with OSHA standards and responsibilities.
Incident Response & Risk Management
- Ensure all incident and injury reports are submitted promptly and communicated appropriately within the company.
- Develop and maintain a hazard analysis program, conducting proactive risk assessments and jobsite inspections to prevent accidents.
- Ensure policies are in place for near-miss and incident reporting, catastrophic events, muster points, and post-incident protocols, including communication with external stakeholders (media, authorities, etc.).
- Act as the primary point of contact for OSHA inspections and compliance matters. Ensure all jobsites are prepared and adhere to regulatory requirements.
- Maintain project incident logs for all reported injuries, general liability (GL) claims, workers’ compensation (WC) claims, and OSHA-recordable incidents.
Training & Safety Program Development
- Develop company-wide safety standards for equipment, supplies, and training programs.
- Oversee training programs for project teams, ensuring all personnel are equipped with the knowledge and resources to maintain a safe working environment.
- Provide oversight for the implementation of crane policies, work plans, and site-specific safety protocols.
- Attend and represent Foresight at construction-related safety committee meetings (AGC, ABC, CASF, SAFE, etc.), ensuring our company remains at the forefront of industry standards.
- Assist in the establishment and maintenance of a project crisis management plan.
- Prepare corporate reports and safety performance metrics, providing leadership with insights to enhance our safety culture.
Education/Experience:
- 10 years of field experience or a bachelor’s degree and 5 years of field experience in safety.
- OTI 500 Construction certification.
- CSP, ASP, or CHST designation.
Knowledge/Skillset:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in computer programs.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to take command when necessary to prevent or respond to safety situations.
- A strong sense of urgency in daily operations
