Description: Forest Area Community Schools is seeking a full time middle school science teacher. Forest Area Community Schools is a small district in northern Michigan which serves around 520 students, PreK-12, in the communities of Fife Lake and South Boardman.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Plan and implement activities to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of the students
- Develop weekly lesson plans centered around state standards
- Help maintain/assist in the establishment of good school-community relations
- Be familiar with emergency procedures
- Assist administration in the implementation of school and board policies
Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate w/ science endorsement (DX or DI). Additional certifications preferred
- Knowledge of requirements of state and federal mandates which directly affect student programming
- Ability to work well within a team environment
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Student-focused approach
