What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping Technician position at Forest City Gear Company?
Develop proper packaging techniques for shipments. Maintain customer product through proper packaging and material handling. Responsible for providing information to accounting functions with the proper part number and accurate part count. Assist in the development, implementation, and enhancement of lean manufacturing concepts.
Essential Job Functions:
- Repackage parts for shipments to outside operators
- Apply oil as needed to parts prior to shipping
- Package product for shipment per customer requirements
- Prepare parts for inventory stock
- Order and restock supplies weekly, as needed
- Cross train with Receiving Operator and Warehouse Clerk
- Fill in travelers, change time entries, and related paperwork as required
- Knowledge of UPS, FedEx, and other related shipping software
- Communicate with UPS, FedEx, and other freight company representatives
- Delivers parts to Roscoe Pack & Ship
- Ensure safety of parts to prevent damage during shipment
- Able to process international shipments
- Review traveler for accuracy and completion
