About the job:
The Psychiatrist will serve as the primary clinical supervisor within the mental health division, overseeing the quality of care provided by Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs), Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs), Family and Marriage Therapists (FMTs), and AODA (Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse) Therapists. This role focuses on ensuring that all mental health services meet the highest standards of care, compliance with regulatory requirements, and alignment with the goals and objectives of the clinic and associated programs.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to Advanced Practice Nurses (APNs) and Therapists, including LPCs, FMTs, and AODA Therapists.
- Review and provide feedback on patient charts, ensuring that all documentation meets quality assurance standards and clinical guidelines.
- Oversee the performance of the counseling and AODA staff, offering guidance on best practices and patient care strategies.
- Collaborate with Behavioral Health manager and other senior staff to ensure a seamless flow of clients into and out of the mental health system, addressing any barriers to access or care.
- Assist Behavioral Health (BH) manager in program development and oversight
- Participate in clinical education of Behavioral Health and other HWC staff
- Represent FCP to internal and external partners when requested to do so by Behavioral Health manager and other senior staff.
What you’ll need to be successful:
- Successful completion of an accredited medical school with an MD or DO degree, successful completion of a psychiatry postgraduate program, board certification or board eligibility as a diplomat in the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
- Minimum of three years of clinical experience post residency, two years of leadership experience, experience treating patients with substance use disorders sufficient to treat patients and to supervise AODA staff and staff-in-training in accordance with Wisconsin SPS 162, chs. MPSW 4,12, and 16 and ch Psy2
- Experience providing clinical oversight and leadership to a behavioral health department, experience providing clinical oversight and leadership of AODA programming and staff, knowledge of federal and state regulatory requirements for behavioral health treatment centers, experience working with patients from diverse backgrounds.
- Must have an unrestricted WI medical license and DEA license.
- Must successfully pass all applicable background checks and drug screens
- Complies with all CDC vaccine and testing recommendations for healthcare professionals. Proof of immunizations is required and immunizations/testing provided upon hire.
Preferred qualifications:
- Board certification/ eligibility in Addiction Psychiatry preferred.
