What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recreation Specialist position at Forest County Potawatomi Community?
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Ensures the health, safety and well-being of participants by providing close supervisor of assigned activities
- Works with a wide range of age groups to assist in, managing daily recreational activities including but not limited to arts, crafts, fabrication lab, aquatics, sports and fitness.
- Assess the needs and interests of individuals and groups and plans activities accordingly
- Serves as a positive role model to the participants, motivating and educating individuals to meet their goals
- Responds to emergency situations, following established emergency protocols
- Communicates effectively with parents and community members verbally and in writing regarding programming
- Assists in program sports, games, special events, field trips and group activities
- Helps disseminate posters and information to promote programs and special events.
- Complies with FCPC Policies and Procedures, FCPC Recreation guidelines and enforces those guidelines with the membership.
- Helps maintain FCPC facilities and equipment
- May occasionally chaperone and transport youth for overnight events
