Tax Office Clerk

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Office Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our office by managing various clerical tasks, providing exceptional customer service, and supporting office management activities. This position requires strong time management skills and proficiency in office software.

Responsibilities

• Perform general clerical duties including filing, data entry, and maintaining organized records.
• Assists in maintaining a uniform permanent records system for the County including maps, plans, surveys and records as deemed necessary
• Maintains per capita tax roll
• Processes Homestead/Farmstead applications
• Generates monthly STEB reports
• Answers questions and resolves problems regarding real estate and valuations to property owners and the general public
• Will perform GIS work relative to mapping and 911 addressing

Experience

• Responsible clerical experience in an office setting
• Basic knowledge of legal terminology and property tax terminology
• Familiarity with QuickBooks is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is important.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service and phone etiquette.
• Previous tax department and or mapping experience preferred
• C.P.E. certificate is preferred but not required, willingness to attend C.P.E. training and maintain credentials following certification

Pay: From $11.64 per hour
