Duties:
- Provide daily care and supervision for animals in the kennel facility
- Feed, water, and exercise animals according to their specific needs
- Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, and other animal living areas
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinary staff
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals and report any concerns to the appropriate personnel
- Assist with grooming and bathing of animals as needed
- Provide basic training and socialization for dogs
- Maintain accurate records of animal care, including feeding schedules, medications, and treatments
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with animals, such as in a kennel, veterinary clinic, or pet care facility is preferred
- Knowledge of animal handling techniques and basic pet care practices
- Ability to handle animals of various sizes and temperaments safely and effectively
- Strong communication skills to interact with pet owners and provide excellent customer service
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed
- Physical stamina to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform repetitive tasks
Preferred Skills:
- Experience as a kennel assistant or in a related field is preferred
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and behavior modification methods
