The purpose of this position is to facilitate meals and ensure that Members and their guests have a great experience when dining at the resort. Expediters are responsible for positive communication with the kitchen and service staff while serving guests in an efficient manner. At all times, expediters are expected to be attentive to our guest’s needs and making them feel welcome, comfortable, important and relaxed (including but not limited to member recognition, menu knowledge and service mechanics). Expediters are expected to have some basic cooking knowledge. This position provides food and beverage service to all patrons and other related duties.
Essential Functions needed to do this position are:
Customer Service – Assist kitchen and service staff with menu information. Provide prompt, polite and professional service to the membership (customer). Maintain a professional appearance by wearing the appropriate uniform at all times. Maintain a clean, sanitary and safe environment.
- Greet all members and guests warmly with an appropriate greeting.
- Understands and communicates all services available at the club.
Expediting:
- Basic food preparation skills
- Knowledge of menu items
- Informing staff about any food preparation details, communicating all special needs to the cook.
- Capability to multi-task in a busy environment
- Communication with cooks to maximize order efficiency
- Ensuring all condiments are filled, performing all other preparation tasks.
- Prepping and maintaining side items (fruit salad, coleslaw, etc..) throughout the day
- Keeping updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items.. etc
- Maintaining proper dining experience, delivering items, anticipating and fulfilling customer needs, replenishing utensils.
- Communication with Kitchen staff to ensure Par levels of ingredients are maintained
- Perform basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor.
- Assisting with special events as needed
Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
- Two years of High School or High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Must have or be able to obtain Food handlers Card
- Previous restaurant/server experience desired
- Familiarity with basic cooking skills
- Clean back ground check
- Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
- Must be self-motivated with a positive and professional attitude.
- Organized, able to work in a busy environment where the priorities are changing.
- Ability to perform a wide variety of tasks during busy times while working flexible hours with an enthusiastic personality.
- Availability to work flexible shifts which may include days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
