Human Resources Specialist
Administration
Reports To: Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources
Pay Grade: Grade 6, Step 1, $20.32 per hour
Schedule: 8 hours per day, 52 weeks per year
Job Summary: The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for assisting employees of Forest Hills Public Schools with HR related issues. Additionally, the HR Specialist will keep records and reports up to date to support the district and its employees.
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in Human Resources, Business or related area
- Excellent technology skills including proficiency with Google Suite
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel required
- Ability to efficiently learn and utilize new software applications
- Experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Demonstrated problem solving skills, motivation, dependability, adaptability and critical thinking skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 3 years of experience in Human Resources
Computer skills testing may be required for this position.
Essential Job Functions:
- Process employee changes and updates on an ongoing basis
- Manage annual processes for employees including (but not limited to) support staff evaluations, reasonable assurance notices, certified staff contracts, etc.
- Process academic and athletic supplementals
- Process tuition reimbursement
- Manage the Red Rover platform
- Serve as the point of contact for Edustaff substitutes
- Assist with REP reporting
- Process and assist with substitute permits
- Assist the Human Resources department with phones and mail as needed
- Ability to perform work with a high level of accuracy while multitasking
- Consistent and reliable attendance
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk, hear (in a quiet or noisy environment). The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust/focus. Work Environment:
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. Work will be performed mostly indoors.
Mental Functions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to compare, analyze, communicate both orally and in writing, copy, coordinate, instruct, compute, synthesize, evaluate, use interpersonal skills, compile and negotiate.
Evaluation:
In accordance with the Administrative Support Staff Agreement.
Terms of Employment:
