Job Description:
The Golf Shop Counter Worker is responsible for providing exceptional service to members and guests within the Golf Shop at Forest Lake Club. Your role is vital in crafting a positive, memorable and exceptional golf experience. Building off experiences created by other staff members, you will continue the member/guest experience with warm demeanor while providing outstanding service. This will be accomplished by being welcoming, personable and professional.
Additionally, you will support the golf shop operations by handling day-to-day duties, including opening and closing procedures, answering phone calls, making golf reservations, and assisting members and guests with their needs. You will also maintain a welcoming and organized environment in the Golf Shop while ensuring the highest standards of service.
Job Responsibilities:
- Greeting Members and their Guests with a welcoming smile.
- Assist the Merchandise Manager and Professional Staff with day-to-day operations.
- Answer Golf Shop telephones in a professional manner.
- Responsible for opening and closing procedures.
- Administer point of sale transactions and maintain the day-to-day golf reservation systems by reserving tee times, check-in customers, and receiving payments.
- Assist with retail sales including helping Members and Guests based on their shopping needs.
- Maintain compliance of club policies for guest and junior play.
- Accurately reconcile golf register sales with daily sales reports at the end of shifts.
- Ensure the collection and recording receipt of appropriate payment (cash, credit card transactions); in accordance with company and City procedures.
- Keep a working knowledge of all upcoming tournaments and programs to provide accurate information to members and guests.
- Assist in rearranging displays and the overall cleanliness of the Golf Shop.
- Perform other duties as assigned or required by the Professional Staff and Merchandise Manager that are relevant to the Golf Shop.
