Student Success Coach

Minimum Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Education or beyond
- State of Michigan Teaching Certification or in process
- Successful classroom teaching experience
- Successful record and examples of School Leadership
Job Responsibilities of a Student Success Coach:
- Co-chair functional behavioral assessments and behavior intervention plan meetings with general education teachers and building administrator for general education students
- Work with building principal for other needs of students in the building with 504 plans
- See students individually or in groups that are on the SE Coach caseload and plan the lessons or activities to be done with students based on their individual needs
- Document the progress of students on the SE Coach caseload
- Communicate with parents of students who have social emotional or behavioral concerns and run meetings with parents when needed
- Conduct observations and offer suggestions to staff or administrators
- Provide intervention ideas to staff and work with staff to implement those ideas (including intervention for classroom management)
- Comply with 31A regulations as position will be funded with at risk money
- Plan with staff and teachers regarding social emotional lessons and support
- Participate in collaborative coaching cycles
- Provide crisis intervention assistance to buildings assigned
- Be an active participant in Student Success Team meetings (MTSS Team)
- Provide resources to parents of students in need of health, mental health, and financial resources (supporting the whole child)
- Lead programs or initiatives in the building for social emotional learning
- Participate in threat assessments for students
- Participate in building school improvement or strategic planning initiatives
- Be willing to sub in classrooms when needed or requested by principal
- Collaborate with behavior team members in the building
- Attend professional development
- Lead professional development to staff involving best practices related to SEL
