What are the responsibilities and job description for the Copy Of Education Program Assistant position at Forest Park Forever Inc?
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
- Lead components of in-person education programs.
- Assist with program evaluation.
- Create, organize, and prepare program supplies.
- Engage with program participants of diverse age groups, abilities, and backgrounds.
- Maintain the inventory of program materials.
- Attend weekly planning meetings and check-ins with supervisor.
- Communicate and collaborate with the education team, Forest Park Forever Staff, and community partners.
- Implement proper safety protocols for programs.
POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma/GED. Preference given to individuals pursuing a career in related fields such as education, child development, experiential learning, environmental education, outdoor recreation, etc.
- Passion for environmental stewardship and outdoor learning.
- Experience engaging with diverse community members, such as children and youth, members of the public, and professional collaborations.
- Experience with equipment management, movement of equipment in preparation for events and programs, and safety protocols.
- Comfort with completing tasks in both indoor and outdoor settings with varying weather and temperature conditions.
- Comfort communicating with teammates and the public in indoor offices spaces and outdoor settings with varying levels of background notice.
- Comfort participating in programming and Forest Park Forever activities for extended periods of time.
- Assistance with programs in spaces with a diverse material base such as pavement, woodchips, grass, and with various gradients.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook & Office suite (Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required.
- Schedule will be determined with the supervisor; some evening and weekend availability may be required.
LICENSE(S)/CERTIFICATION(S) REQUIRED:
- Valid driver’s license.
PHYSICAL WORK REQUIREMENTS/WORK CONDITIONS:
- Work functions will be performed in-person.
- Some work functions will be performed outdoors where hot, cold, wet, and/or humid conditions may be present.
- When indoors, work in a shared indoor office environment with other staff.
- Operates computers and other office equipment.
- Frequently required to traverse the park over uneven terrain.
- Frequently lifts and moves equipment up to thirty pounds; occasionally required to lift and move equipment weighing over fifty pounds.
