What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Nature Reserve Technician position at Forest Park Forever Inc?
Job Purpose: This position will perform a wide range of habitat management duties in support of the Forest Park Forever’s Nature Reserve Staff. The work will include maintenance of natural communities and resources, maintenance of equipment, and monitoring of natural systems within areas maintained by Forest Park Forever. The position reports to work Monday through Friday 7:00 am – 3:30 pm from March 1 through Dec 1.
POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

- Passionate about efficiently completing the detailed natural resource care required in Forest Park
- Ability to operate an automotive vehicle and light equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
PHYSICAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- The ability to exert physical effort for extended periods of time in performing manual labor in extreme temperatures is required.
- The ability to frequently move and/or lift up to fifty (50) pounds and carry it a reasonable distance.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move more than eighty (80) pounds.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Working knowledge of Missouri flora and fauna
- Working knowledge of natural community and habitat management practices
- Experience in the natural resource field is a plus
LICENSE(S) / CERTIFICATION(S) REQUIRED:
- Driver’s license
The Seasonal Nature Reserve Technician will work with the Nature Reserve Steward to complete the following tasks:
- Conduct physical and chemical vegetation management.
- Plant native species.
- Remove trash and debris from landscape areas.
- Perform landscape maintenance and general maintenance tasks.
- Operate light equipment, vehicles, power tools and hand tools.
- Provide support for Forest Park Forever special events.
