Recreation Director Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a variety of recreational and social programs tailored to resident interests and needs.
- Create and manage a monthly activity calendar with diverse and engaging activities.
- Assess residents’ interests and abilities to ensure activities are suitable and inclusive.
- Supervise and train activity staff and volunteers to support activity execution.
- Manage the activities budget and ensure cost-effective use of resources.
- Collaborate with other departments to align activities with residents' care plans.
- Communicate with residents and families about upcoming activities and events.
- Maintain records of participation and feedback, and prepare reports on program effectiveness.
- Ensure activities comply with facility policies and safety regulations.
Recreation Director Qualifications:
- Certified Activity Director with experience in Long-Term Care preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a related field.
- Certification as an Activity Professional preferred.
