Milieu Manager - 2nd Shift

Responsibilities

Forest View Hospital, located just seven miles southeast of downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, is a private 108 bed psychiatric facility that serves children, adolescents and adults. We are licensed by the State of Michigan, fully accredited by The Joint Commission and we bring more than 45 years of experience to the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of behavioral health problems. As a part of our continued success and growth, we are seeking qualified applicants for an evening shift Milieu Manager.

Under the direction of the CNO, the Milieu Manager - 2nd Shift is responsible for managing the milieu staff and promoting a positive work environment. The Milieu Manager also takes responsibility for training and supporting unit staff to ensure the treatment spaces are safe, secure, and therapeutic.

Key Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Participates in the patient intake process as needed to reduce the level of anxiety the patient may experience as they are being admitted to the unit.
• Models professional behavior and standards of care to staff as a teacher, trainer and a direct care provider of patient care.
• Provides ongoing feedback and coaching to individuals and individual shifts when observing and supporting.
• Assures the maintenance of the physical environment throughout the unit to ensure infection control standards are being met.
• Assigns tasks related to the admission and intake process to the milieu staff, as appropriate.

Hours for this position are 3:30pm-12am, with some weekend availability required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and three years of applicable experience or a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 2 years of applicable experience.
• Two (2) years of supervisory experience
• 6-12 months of experience at Forest View or another UHS facility 
• Valid CPR Certification or the ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to communicate clearly through spoken words and in writing.
