Job Summary
The Behavioral Health Provider will provide Other Licensed Practitioner (OLP) and Community Psychiatric Support & Treatment (CPST) services to children and youth with behavioral and mental health challenges in their homes and communities in the Queens and Brooklyn area. The children will be community members as well as children placed in our foster care program. In addition the BHP will assist with coordinating medication management appointments for children in foster care. This position accrues hours towards LCSW.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assess, diagnose, develop a client focused treatment plan and document timely, per OMH and OCFS regulations.
- Provide in-home or community-based therapy and counseling for the purpose of alleviating symptoms or functional limitations.
- Develop Crisis Avoidance Strategies with child/youth and family. Debrief and reassess precursors and triggers.
- Work as part of an inter-disciplinary team to provide integrative care.
- Able to utilize and document in an electronic health record system (EHR).
- Carry a caseload from 7 to 14 clients.- (Community Mental health Program)
- Participate in case conference meetings, monthly clinical supervision meetings and mandatory training, as needed.
- Assist with competing intakes and reassessments for children in Foster Care. (Article 29I)
- Provide CPST support services to at least 5 families. (Article 29-I)
- Assist with the coordination of medication management follow ups. (Article 29-I)
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- A master’s degree from an accredited program, in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or any related behavioral health or human service fields.
- License (LCSW, LMSW, LCAT, LMHC, LMFT ) or Limited Permit from New York State.
- Experience working with children and youth with behavioral and emotional challenges.
- Bilingual English/Spanish required.
- Must be able to commute within Queens and Brooklyn
- Afternoon and evening availability preferred.
Salary
- Masters/License - $50,000 - $62,500
- Masters/License/Bilingual- $52,000 - $65,000.
