Job Summary
The Certification Coach is responsible for working with prospective foster parents, helping them navigate the certification process and supporting them through their placement.
Major Responsibilities/Activities
- Processed and managed applicants inquiries
- Completes home studies, reauthorizations of kinship homes and regular homes
- Conducts home visits to foster homes as a part of certification/recertification process
- Completes safety review when changes are made to a foster home
- Facilitates monthly foster parents training when necessary
- Assists in emergency situations as needed
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with all agency policies, procedures and OCFS regulations, including but not limited to HIPPA
- Other duties as required by the supervisor
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related subject from an accredited College or University
- Self-motivated, organized, team player and creativity
- Completion of NTDC with TRIPP principles TOT or willing to complete 3 weeks of training once hired.
- Ability to attend all agency mandated trainings
- Ability to accommodate a flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends
- Ability to travel in and around the metropolitan New York City region
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group or large group settings
- Strong attention to detail; ability to organize, prioritize and multi-task
- Fluency in Spanish/French a plus
