Position Summary
This position is responsible for performing accounting and analysis. This includes developing, implementing and/or maintaining one or a combination of systems to maintain accounting records that are GAAP (General Accepted Accounting Principles) compliant. Prepare and analyze financial reports, journal entries, maintain and reconcile ledger accounts. Provide record of assets, liabilities and other financial transitions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of all accounting functions, including maintenance of the General Ledger
- Manage month-end closing processes, preparing journal entries and supporting the preparation of the Financial Statement Package
- Support accounting staff in analyzing inventory records for accuracy
- Cash Management and account signer authority insuring the validity of payments made from company accounts
- Oversee compliance with state and local governmental reporting, licensing, and tax requirements
- Track capital projects in process and manage the Fixed Asset inventory database.
- Maintain Lease database in compliance with GAAP
- Lead annual external audits and facilitate the physical inventory count
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, inventory & general accounting including the hiring, training and retention of qualified accounting staff
- Work with key personnel at all locations to develop best-practices for accounting, inventory and physical assets control
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field preferred
- 5 years progressive accounting experience
- Strong organization, oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong computer aptitude, which includes expertise with Microsoft Excel and Word as well as experience with accounting software and ABC general ledgers
- Analytical skills with particular attention to detail
- Demonstrate Honesty, Integrity and Professionalism at all times
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Valid state Driver’s License & good driving record
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
