The Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer will support the team in analyzing, designing, building and testing software/applications that meet and exceed customer expectations. This position is responsible for reviewing functional requirements from the product team and stakeholders; designing test plans, writing test cases, overseeing test strategies, and building test processes into the deployment pipeline.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Create test designs, utilize best practices and methodologies to determine current and future solutions, use analytical processes to understand issues and evaluate solutions.
- Troubleshoot and explore issues in the software across a variety of devices.
- Identify, record, thoroughly document and track bugs.
- Test and validate new features and bug fixes in the software.
- Stay up to date with new testing tools, test strategies, and developing technologies.
- Acts as a liaison between key business areas and systems teams, and communicates project feasibility, status and issues to key stakeholders.
- Analyze user stories and technical requirements for validity, feasibility and technical soundness and decompose them to extract positive and negative test scenarios and strong acceptance criteria.
- Use methodical and repeatable processes to verify releases meet quality standards before launch.
- Apply Quality Engineering principles throughout the software development lifecycle to identify defects and design flaws.
- Collaborate with the development team to improve the quality of the deliverables and ensure the business needs are met.
- Provide expertise and guidance in regard to process and documentation of test cases as well as reporting QA trends
Qualifications & Experience
- 3 years of enterprise software testing and engineering experience.
- Undergraduate degree or relevant experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes.
- Analytical problem-solving skills.
- Experience with a variety of different testing tools and techniques
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Willing to dig deep and ask questions in order to find the issues customers are facing.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks
- Automation experience with Cypress and/or Selenium (a plus)
- ISTQB certification or similar (a plus)
