Certification/Skills: Trauma Informed Care, Play Therapy, Computer Skills, CBT certification, Substance Abuse (CADC, CAADC) certification preferred

Other Qualifications:

Possessing an active NPI (National Provider Identifier) number preferred

Possessing an active CAQH (Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare) account preferred

Strong computer skills preferred

Flexibility in scheduling is required

Job Description/Responsibilities:

The Independent Contractual Clinician is responsible for providing therapy services to individuals associated with agency programs or referred through the community. Sessions may be in office or telehealth depending on the need and circumstances of the clients. The target population may include children and adolescents, adults, families, and couples. All clinical treatment is to be provided within the context of the agency’s policies and procedures, as well as all applicable State of Michigan contract and/or licensing standards. The clinician will assess a client’s needs, identify protective and risk factors, and target changeable factors for intervention. All clinical treatment is based on optimal clinical competencies. Therapeutic services may include a combination of individual, marital, family and group therapy based upon the needs of the population being served. Clinician is responsible for maintaining accurate and current EHR’s (electronic health records) which includes documenting all therapeutic contacts within 24 hours, creating and updating treatment plans and all assessments, and any other documentation needs deemed necessary to the program or agency.

Employment as a contractual clinician is contingent upon the verification of their professional qualifications and successful internal credentialing process to obtain the necessary privileges to provide the therapeutic services. In addition, the contractual clinician will undergo the insurance enrollment and credentialing process to be paneled with insurance companies for the purpose of third party reimbursement as a provider.

A contractual clinician must commit to completing a minimum of five (5) billable hours per week.

Work Environment, Client Demographic:

Hybrid- both Telehealth and in person sessions. This job operates in a professional office environment. The agency has a therapy office, play therapy room, and family therapy room. Must have reliable transportation and a clean driving record.

Clients range in age from children (4-17) to adults. Individual, family, and play therapy

Position Classification, Type & Expected Hours of Work:

Monday through Saturday; Availability/Flexibility within own schedule to meet the needs/schedules of clients, including evening and weekend therapy appointments.

Job Type: Contractual 1099 Position
