JOB SUMMARY:
The Controller position is for a position of financial and accounting leadership at our Platform company. The position includes responsibility for for the accounting operations of the Company and its related subsidiaries and affiliates, including the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with U. S. GAAP.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the Company Accounting function including helping guide others in the organization who support accounting entries.
- Manage the compilation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statement preparation as well as monthly operational reporting.
· Assist in preparation and financial reports, including KPIs and dashboards, for private equity sponsors and other stakeholders
· Oversee compliance with debt covenants and reporting requirements
- Manage relationships with lenders, ensuring timely communication and reporting
- Monitor and forecast debt obligations, including interest payments and principal repayments, to optimize cash flow and liquidity
· Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and manage the annual audit process
- Support the development of all accounting policies and procedures to ensure a system of internal controls is in place and remains in compliance with audit and reporting requirements.
- Support the development and implementation of a company ERP system and subsequent maintenance of the system once in place.
- Oversee the activities of the Accounts Receivable function to ensure the accurate and timely management of all Accounts Receivable aging components including billing and cash receipts.
- Oversee the Accounts Payable function of the organization including the timeliness of bill payment and responsiveness to vendors.
- Manage the relationships with third party legal providers associated with corporate, tax and financial matters and coordinate preparation, execution, filing and accounting treatment of resolutions taken within the dedicated entities.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making
- Ensure scalability of financial systems and processes to support growth initiatives, including M&A activities.
- Support the Company operations and other departments in developing and maintaining prompt and accurate reports including system of financial metrics.
- Assist the Team develop company Administrative Policies and Procedures in the areas of Financial Control and Human Resources.
· Provide technical leadership for all accounting, tax and financial matters including appropriate policy research with respect to new applicable accounting pronouncements.
· Maintain and update consolidated tax model to approximate the Company’s tax provision.
· Ensure timely and accurate filing of all regulatory filings for both tax and accounting.
· Work closely with the Forfend CEO and CFO as well as other key members of a senior management team to develop appropriate, timely data and information to communicate to the company's Board of Directors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- CPA required
- University degree in Business with a major in Accounting.
- 5 years’ experience, including hands-on experience with financial close, preparing financial statements, variance analysis, audit support, and more.
- Strong communication skills both written and oral.
- Previous experience in establishment of accounting system packages and ERP Systems
- Prior experience with private equity-owned entities is strongly preferred
- Comfortable working in a small, family-friendly company with evolving processes
Salary : $100,000 - $140,000
