Position Overview:
The New Cell Development Project Manager will be a part of a multidisciplinary team tasked with supporting the scoping, contracting and execution of new cell builds and other collaborative builds with external collaborators/customers. The Project Manager for New Cell Development will be responsible for developing and maintaining comprehensive project plans, capturing key technical requirements and ensuring efficient collaboration across the business. The Project manager will report to the VP of Energy Storage.
Description:
- Basic understanding of battery cell components, materials, and processes either a priori or obtained immediately upon employment
- Plan and prioritize multiple workstreams and projects at a time
- Develop and maintain detailed capacity and production plans to ensure alignment with business objectives
- Act as liaison between business development, greater Energy Storage Group, R&D, other parts of the company, and external partners in order to meet project deliverables and timelines and stay on budget
- Develop project scopes, that capture key technical requirements, deliverables, tasks, timelines, logistics and resource allocation while providing input on improving logistics and project plans
- Procure necessary project goods; track budgets, project milestones, and deliverables
- Deliver weekly progress reports/presentations; organizes proposals, documentation, project outcomes and lessons learned
- Maintain inventory of relevant battery materials and supplies
- Spearhead federal grant proposal writing for lithium-ion battery technologies and monitor progress and outcomes of grant-funded projects, providing detailed reports to stakeholders
- Act as subject matter expert for lithium-ion battery technology, providing insights into material performance, trends, and innovations along with the Product Manager
- Identify continuous improvement projects and proposes solutions
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM related degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in program or project management
- Self-motivated, organized, goal-oriented with acute attention to detail and propensity for follow-up
- Excellent written and verbal communication/people skills
- Ability to effectively prioritize with strong time management skills
- Ability to obtain a basic understanding of different battery technologies, their performance and characteristics
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP Certification
- Scientific/technical acumen
- 2 -years’ experience in the lithium-ion battery space
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work will be in an office or manufacturing environment. The employee will be required to wear appropriate safety PPE including but not limited to eye protection, gloves, steel toe shoes, lab coat, and a hard hat. Strict adherence to corporate and/or plant policies, rules and regulations in these areas is required. Compensation:
- $90,000K/yr – 100,000K/yr depending on experience
