Logistics and Inventory Coordinator
Overview:
This role oversees all shipping operations, including coordinating and managing shipments via LTL and UPS. It is responsible for inventory management, ensuring accurate tracking and organization of materials and job-related inventory. Additionally, the position oversees the rebuild and warranty department, maintaining efficient workflows and organized processes to support timely and accurate fulfillment of all rebuild and warranty-related items.
Position Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage all inbound and outbound shipments using LTL and UPS services.
- Contact carrier representatives to make arrangements for shipping and delivery of materials.
- Examine shipment contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or purchase orders, to verify accuracy.
- Purchase and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain inventory of stock.
- Prepare documents, such as work orders, bills of lading, or shipping orders, to route materials.
- Pack, seal, label, or affix postage to prepare materials for shipping.
- Record shipment data, such as weight, charges, space availability, damages, or discrepancies, for reporting, accounting, or record-keeping purposes.
- Communicate with company representatives to resolve issues such as damages, shortages, or noncompliance with specifications.
- Determine shipping methods, routes, or rates for materials to be shipped.
- Ensure that the warehouse is well-organized for easy access and efficiency.
- Ensure the right amount of stock is available at all times, avoiding overstock or shortages.
- Conduct regular inventory counts and audits to verify accuracy between physical stock and system records.
- Generate inventory reports for management, highlighting stock levels, trends, and any issues related to inventory.
- Maintain organization of jobs and material inventory.
- Oversee the rebuild and warranty department.
- Document status of incoming rebuild and warranty shipments.
- Coordinate with department managers to ensure that rebuild and warranty repairs are on the schedule.
- Assist with the rebuild of wheels.
- Monitor the progress of rebuild and warranty repairs to ensure timely and accurate completion, ensuring items are returned to customers promptly.
- Perform cleaning and general maintenance on tools and general shop equipment.
- Follow safety protocols.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or general education degree GED required.
- Previous experience in shipping and receiving, logistics, or warehouse environment preferred.
- Previous experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Possess a strong mechanical aptitude. Previous experience with torque wrench, drill press, and basic hand tools.
- Exhibit flexibility and a willingness to take on new responsibilities and challenges.
- Must be capable of independently resolving issues in a manufacturing environment while effectively collaborating as part of a team.
- High standard of attention to detail.
- Possess a valid drivers license.
