JOB SUMMARY:
Forkey Construction & Fabrication, Inc. is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team. This role focuses on designing and implementing fixturing and tooling across our production floor to support our cutting-edge manufacturing processes. With an annual investment of $2M-$3M in new equipment, this position is critical in developing innovative solutions to meet the demands of our growing operations.
The ideal candidate will take the lead in designing innovative custom tooling and partnering with cross-functional teams to drive efficient production processes. This is a dynamic role that combines technical expertise with creativity to enhance productivity and maintain our high-quality standards.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Design custom fixturing and tooling, primarily for the Robotic Welding, Manual Welding, and CNC Mill departments, using SolidWorks software.
- Utilize SolidWorks PDM to efficiently manage and maintain all design files, ensuring accurate version control and accessibility.
- Collaborate with the Quality team to develop and implement countermeasures, such as gauges and fixtures, to address quality concerns and improve production outcomes.
- Partner with the Production team to identify and implement process improvements, monitor workflows, and establish operational efficiencies.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering is required. Mechanical preferred.
- 2-5 years of experience in an Engineering role is required. Experience in a similar environment is preferred.
- Must have a strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and capabilities.
- 2 years of experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software is required.
- Experience using SolidWorks PDM or similar file management software is a plus.
- Experience with JobBoss or similar ERP software is a plus.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
SCHEDULE: 45 hours Monday-Friday: 7am – 4:30pm; May occasionally be requested to work overtime and weekends.
TRAVEL: Rarely required to attend trainings.
CONTACT: Daily contact with department staff and with management.
