Role DescriptionForm Energy is hiring a Battery Engineer II as a key player in the validation of our cathode materials design.This role reports into our Cathode Engineering Team and is part of the broader Electrode Engineering organization. In this role, you will be involved in analyzing performance and durability improvements of our cathodes as part of product development in collaboration with our manufacturing, process engineering, and test development teams. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and be part of the growth of a fast-moving company with breakthrough technology and an incredible mission!
What you'll do:Drive experimental design, testing, and analysis of Form's cathodes to give real-time feedback to the manufacturing line while prioritizing safety
Analyze large data sets with statistical methods to recommend data-driven design decisions
Support electrochemical testing by writing test protocols, troubleshooting and resolving failures, and maintaining cells on test
Collaborate with process and manufacturing teams in Form Factory 1 to validate changes and improvements to existing processes
Collaborate with Cathode Engineering materials engineers to incorporate materials understanding into electrochemical data analysis
Build mechanisms for improved data analysis, experiment plans, and understanding of what impacts the performance and durability of Form's cathodes
1-2 years of experience in Battery testing, electrochemical systems, or a related field
Academic degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field
Demonstrated experience in data analysis and statistical analysis using JMP, Python, Minitab, etc.
Ability to independently advance experiments from conception through data analysis with a high level of attention to detail
Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills within a group of peers and broader organization including remote team members
Excellent communication and organizational skills
