Role Description
The Senior Test Engineer role will join a growing Test Development team, part of our Test Operations group support of developing Form's cutting edge Iron-Air battery technology. Working within this large cross-functional technology group, you will support battery testing, and improve upon test capability tools and methods that allow Form to have high confidence in its technology development. In this role, you also will drive continuous improvement projects within the battery test space, creating newer, better ways to test our batteries. You'll act as a source of technical expertise to various internal customer teams - being a valuable contributor towards our goal of enabling a better, smarter grid.
What you'll do :
Support Form Energy's all-scale test function by implementing novel test and analysis strategies for electrochemical cells
Own automated test monitoring and alerting tools to increase uptime in Form Energy's long term tests, collaborating with software teams to facilitate nimble and traceable issue tracking
Provide test-based requirements to partner teams for the development of in-house software tools
Be Test Development's technical lead for test lab continuous improvement and root cause analyses
Evaluate test articles (cells) at the test stand to anticipate test challenges and support higher complexity troubleshooting
Write advanced test protocols using Form Energy established standards, implemented on Arbin battery test software internally developed test software
Act as lead team contributor / voice in the development of Form's novel test software
What you'll bring :
4 years of experience in energy storage systems test engineering or development engineering
BS degree in Chemical Engineering, Material Science or equivalent industry experience
Working experience with transport phenomena / mass flow measurement systems
Knowledge of battery test methods, device / sensors
Proficiency in coding and creation of data tools : Python Scripting, SQL, as well as writing advanced battery test scripts
High laboratory safety standards
Commitment to excellence, including strong documentation skills / organizational habits
