Journeyman Fabrication Shop Welder
We are a fast pace, growing structural steel & custom metal fabrication shop seeking a qualified candidate to work in our fabrication facility. This candidate will have 8 years minimum experience Mig and Tig welding in shop and in the field, the ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics, an understanding of shop mathematics and be able to utilize measuring equipment such as tape measure and calipers to inspect finished components and fabrications prior to shipping.
Basic Job duties:
- Setup and plan jobs and fabrication with little or no assistance
- Utilize hand tools, files and grinder to deburr and finish parts
- Read Blue Prints and mechanical drawings
- Mig & Tig Weld Steel, Stainless and Aluminum
- Complete fabrications from layout to shipping
- Load and unload trucks using one of our forklifts
- Maintain Quality Control documents
Requirements:
- Mechanical aptitude
- Own tools and welding helmet
- Current NC Drivers License, clean driving record and own transportation
- Capable of running a fork lift
- Capable of lifting 80lbs on a regular basis
- Capable of working and being productive in an unsupervised capacity
- Able to work overtime and weekends as required and on short notice
- Must be a motivated self starter
- Must be organized and capable of maintaining a clean and safe work environment
- Must be a good communicator with the ability to understand and carry-out work orders
- 8 years minimum Mig, Tig and shop equipment experience
