Responsibilities:
- Support incident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective/preventative actions.
- Conduct audits and maintain a strong on-site EHSS presence.
- Assess and manage PPE needs while mitigating workplace hazards.
- Oversee return-to-work evaluations and transitional strategies.
- Identify training needs, conduct sessions for new hires, and provide refresher training for existing associates.
- Ensure compliance with key EHSS programs (e.g., LOTO, Confined Space, Hazard Communication, Hot Work, Respiratory Protection).
- Review and approve new chemicals/products within the chemical approval system.
- Lead EHSS projects, driving corrective actions, continuous improvements, and compliance efforts.
- Facilitate Site Safety Committee meetings and engage employees in safety resolutions.
- Develop and track EHSS Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Assist in developing and improving core EHSS programs with the EHSS Manager.
- Support hazardous waste management and provide resources for affected employees.
- Collect and input data for EHSS metrics.
- Oversee the site security system in partnership with the EHSS Manager.
- Act as EHSS Manager in their absence.
- Associate’s in Science/Engineering, or EHSS field (preferred). Significant experience and/or skills without degree will warrant consideration
- Demonstrated leader characteristics as this role influences 150 people on the site.
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT and DEA regulations
- Base knowledge of Industrial Hygiene sampling with emphasis in pharma (preferred)
- Prefer experience in a manufacturing environment, chemical or process manufacturing
- Ability to sit for an EHSS certification, e.g. CIH, CSP, SMS, OHST (preferred)
- Experience in areas of EHSS program development, training, implementation and management
- Proficient knowledge and use of standard Windows programs (Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Ability to wear appropriate PPE and have an active presence in any Kindeva office, lab and plant facility
- Work within a team environment to support and achieve goals and objectives relating to EHSS
