Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Food Production Operations Manager to oversee the operations at our wholesale bakery operation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of food safety standards, production processes, and mechanical knowledge. This role is crucial in ensuring that our products meet quality standards while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
Responsibilities
- Must be bilingual in Spanish
- Confirm that all machinery is running properly.
- Confirm that all equipment is operating at the correct speeds.
- Must know and understand all job functions in all operation areas.
- Confirm employees are following the correct operational procedures.
- Train, retrain and cross train all personnel
- Maintain employee moral and work performance by coaching in a positive manner.
- Anticipate potential problem areas and delegate course of action to be taken.
- Complete a Food Safety Incident Report or Health Safety Incident Report if an accident occurs.
- Communicate to the Director of Operations or HR Manager all needed employee information, lateness, absences and poor work performance.
- Confirm readiness of area for next shift
- Prepare, maintain, review and finalize all necessary paperwork for shift.
- Review production schedule and final orders to make sure necessary products are produced.
- Communicate with personnel and fellow supervisors any changes in procedures, shifts, personnel, doughs, bake times, etc. after approval of management.
- Maintain and adjust machinery to Company's specifications as directed by Management.
- Know where emergency STOP and START/STOP buttons are located.
- Responsible for following all Lock Out/Tag Out procedures for machine when necessary.
- Follow all company GMP procedures and has a complete understanding of HACCP.
- Support without hesitation General Plant Safety, Food Safety, Food Defense Initiatives and Good Manufacturing Practices with an understanding that these are absolute and Priority#1.
- Must pass pallet lift training
- Back up will be the Director of Operations
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a food processing plant or similar environment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food production.
- Basic math skills for managing production metrics and inventory levels.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead a team effectively.
