Main Tasks And Responsibilities
The Paper Specialist is a hands-on position with insights into the global paper market and is able to make things happen. He/she will be responsible for the conceptual planning of future paper strategies (landscaping the existing paper grades, suppliers, solutions, evaluation, networking with research institutes etc.) as well as the management and execution of development projects related to Kraft and/or decor paper application.

The Paper Specialist is a hands-on position with insights into the global paper market and is able to make things happen. He/she will be responsible for the conceptual planning of future paper strategies (landscaping the existing paper grades, suppliers, solutions, evaluation, networking with research institutes etc.) as well as the management and execution of development projects related to Kraft and/or decor paper application.
General tasks include amongst others:
- Analyze current product range with its technical specifications
- Develop a thorough understanding of available paper grades in the market
- Build a thorough knowledge of existing supply base
- Assess new opportunities for paper sourcing – consolidation
- Establish and monitor quality requirements for suppliers
- Manage and execute R&D projects in order to introduce new paper solutions while balancing short term challenges and long term strategy
- Build and maintain our network in the paper field, including suppliers, research institutes, associations and other companies
- Identify new areas of opportunity in the market, which may offer potential for development of new applications or products.
- Degreed in Paper Science and / or Chemical Engineering. Advanced Degree preferred.
- 5 years of relevant working experience in an industrial R&D or operational environment (preferably in the paper or paper converting industry).
- Able to work independently and take responsibility.
- Drive to make things happen.
- Excellent communication and networking skills with the ability to connect to Operations, Purchasing, CEO’s and different levels at our suppliers.
