The Job:
- Process monitoring and troubleshooting for optimal results.
- Recommend improvements or redesigns for equipment and processes to meet safety, quality, production, and cost goals.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including R&D, production, and maintenance.
- Prepare premises for process improvement and equipment installation.
- Evaluate alternatives and costs for new installations and modifications.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
- Design, plan, and implement equipment upgrades to optimize production and reduce costs.
- Develop and implement process improvements (uptime, capacity release, cost performance, yield).
- Review, revise, and create Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and other documentation.
- Lead the scale-up process for mixing new resins.
- Investigate equipment needed for new resin applications.
- Foster effective communication at all levels.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
You:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering required.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively with the maintenance team when needed.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and promote safe behaviors.
Bonus Points:
- 2-3 years of experience in a medium-scale chemical facility.
- Proficient in Microsoft products and 2D/3D CAD programs.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safe practices related to chemical manufacturing.
- Experience working with polymers, oligomers, and polymerization.
- SOME exposure/experience with automation, packaging lines, mechanical, electrical, and plant engineering duties.
