What are the responsibilities and job description for the SPVC System Analyst - Production position at Formosa Plastics?
I. POSITION OBJECTIVEThe System Analyst will assist with daily plant operations (production) by interfacing and coordinating activities with plant personnel to analyze monthly expenses and prepare deviation reports. Assemble and prepare SOD, production loss summary, MMR, CTA1 & CTA2, quarterly reports and semi-annual reports. Coordinates daily, monthly and annual production reporting. Will oversee the successful completion of data review, and operational objectives ensuring all targets are achieved. This role involves analyzing and maintaining operational data, monitoring product inventories and ensuring adherence to policies and processes across the SPVC unit.
II. MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITYOperations Support: Maximize the Unit’s productivity through best practices, benchmarking, planning, failure-root cause analysis, to meet the SPVC unit goals.
Production and Reporting: Create and maintain reports needed; including tracking of daily goals and explain the reasoning for not meeting the targets. Utilization of tracking system to perform historical data analysis. Study the process productivity and look for areas of improvement that will help the units achieve Best Industry Practices and address deficiencies.
Manage, Analyze, Integrate, and Administer Solutions to Improve Efficiency: Gather, compile, analyze, and make reports with critical impact production planning, budget, quality, and achieve goals. Comply with company policy/procedures to streamline day-to-day processes, work flow, and related practices.
Perform Long-Term Planning Analysis: Profitability, production reliability, safety, environmental and quality and production targets.
Cost and Budget: Analyze and control the production/ unit department costs as measured by monthly reports. Make recommendations to correct any deviations from the budget.
THM – Promote cleanliness and order through implementation of the Total House Keeping Maintenance program. Emphasize Nothing Touch Ground program and No Visual Pollution program. Maintain the plant like new condition.
III. QUALIFICATIONSA. TECHNICAL JOB CRITERIA 1. Previous Related Experience RequiredSix (6) to ten (10) years of experience in a petrochemical facility/refinery dependent upon education; experience in SPVC unit. Knowledge of Production Accounting practice and procedures.
2. Technical Skills Required To Perform This Job
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
AS400 Experience Preferred.
Personal computer skills and applicable software.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
3. EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of 10 years of direct job-related experience required. Associate’s degree with 8 years of direct job-related experience. Bachelor’s degree with 6 years of direct job-related experience.
4. Other Certification/Training Required To Gain Function-Related Technical Knowledge
Will require training in Company Policies and Procedures after hire.
